About Pento

Built by a student.
For every learner.

Pento started inside a school ATL — a student, an ATL head and an ATL teacher, building side-by-side.
This is the community that grew out of it.

Our mission

To make every classroom, home and learner feel supported — with tools, mentorship and community
that meet them where they are. Learning gets better when the people who care about it share the same thoughtful space.

Our vision

A generation of confident, curious learners — supported by teachers who feel resourced,
and parents who feel connected — growing together in one community.

What PENTO stands for

Five words that shape every feature we build.

P
Planning

Structured pathways for every learner — routines, plans and rituals that turn intention into progress.

E
Empowerment

Tools and encouragement that help learners own their journey and speak up with confidence.

N
Navigation

Guidance across subjects, careers and life decisions from mentors who've been there.

T
Teaching

Modern lesson design, AI-assisted planning and resources built with real educators.

O
Optimising

Continuous, reflective improvement — small habits, honest feedback, better outcomes.

Our story

How Pento was actually made.

Students and mentors collaborating inside a school ATL lab
01 · The invitation

A student who kept building things.

Pento's founder was still a student when his school's ATL head noticed something — he kept prototyping small ideas long after class ended. So he was invited to join the school's ATL bootcamp and turn one of those ideas into a real project.

The idea he chose was simple, and stubborn: learning should feel like a community, not a subscription.

02 · Built on campus

The founder, the ATL head, the ATL teacher.

For many days, the three of them worked side-by-side on the school campus — the student writing code, the ATL head shaping the vision, the ATL teacher grounding it in what students, teachers and parents really need. Whiteboards filled up. Ideas were killed and reborn. Pento kept getting sharper.

Nothing about Pento came from a boardroom. It came from a table in a school lab.

03 · Launch

From a bootcamp project to a community.

What started as one student's ATL project is now a growing community connecting classrooms, homes and mentors. Every feature — from student timers, to teacher planners, to parent updates — is still guided by one question: does this help a learner move forward today?

The journey, in four beats

  1. Step 01

    The invitation

Our school's ATL head noticed a student who kept prototyping ideas after class — and invited him to join the ATL bootcamp.

  2. Step 02

    First sketches

Between classes and after school, the founder started sketching what a learning community could feel like if it was made for students, not adults.

  3. Step 03

    Built inside the campus

Over many long days on campus, the student, the ATL head and the ATL teacher built Pento together — designing, breaking, rebuilding.

  4. Step 04

    Launch day

What began as a bootcamp idea grew into a community. Today Pento is open to students, teachers and parents everywhere.

Our values

The principles we hold ourselves to.

People first

Technology should serve relationships between students, teachers and parents — not replace them.

Safe by default

Verified teachers, private profiles and moderation built into the product from day one.

Curiosity wins

We celebrate questions, experiments and the courage it takes to learn something new.

One community

Every feature is designed so students, teachers and parents can meet in the same space.
